Acupuncture, Herbal Therapy, Moxibustion, Cupping

My practice is focused on a highly personalized approach to patient care. I work with combinations of treatment techniques to move toward a specific result, tailored to the needs of each individual patient.

Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into specific points of the body that stimulate movement of energy. While acupuncture effectively treats a broad range of conditions, it has traditionally been used to prevent illness and reduce stress.

Herbal therapy

Herbal therapy and and nutritional counseling are integral aspects of Chinese Medicine. Herbal formulas and foods are recommended according to individual constitution and by the season.

Moxibustion

Moxa is used directly on acupuncture points as an analgesic, to promote blood circulation, or to optimize immune and digestive function. As an analgesic, moxa stimulates the adrenal glands and triggers the secretion of anti-inflammatory hormones such as cortisone. It also promotes blood circulation to relieve pain and assist in detoxification.

Cupping

Cupping is the technique of applying a glass cup to the skin surface to draw blood to underlying tissue and relieve pain. Cups are attached by creating a partial vacuum that pulls stagnation from within the body. While cupping is most commonly used in the treatment of muscular and joint pain, it is also used in the treatment of bronchial congestion, common cold, and headache.

I’ve been seeing Emily for about 3 years and my son and husband have also been her patients. I recommend her highly. She’s a gem!
